Bottle Gourd (10 Servings)

RECIPE:

bottle gourd

DIRECTION:
1.
Peel
and bone the chicken.
2.
Cut the
chicken into strips, and marinate with 1 teaspoons of soy sauce, 1 clove of
garlic (chop finely), 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and some sugar for 20 minutes.
3.
Peel the
bottle gourd and cut it into half, remove the seeds, and cut it into strips.
4.
Slice
the garlic and chili.
5.
Stir-Fry
the garlic and chili for a while, and add the bottle gourd into the wok.
6.
Add some
salt, soy sauce, and some sugar to taste. (The quantity of seasoning depends on
you.)
7.
Put the
chicken into the wok when the bottle gourd is half-cooked.
8.
When the
chicken is cooked, it’s done.
Additional dish: Pumpkin Soup
(the simplified one is suitable for the limited
ingredients!)

Direction
1. Peel
the skin and remove the seeds of pumpkin.
2. Cut
the ¾ pumpkin into chunks, and steam for 30-40 minutes.
3. Bone
the chicken and marinate with some salt and sugar for 15-20 minutes.
4. Stew
the chicken bone with 500c.c water for 30-40 minutes.
5. Dice
¼ pumpkin.
6. Cut
the onion finely.
7. Stir-fry
the onion for a while and add the diced pumpkin into the frying pan.
8. Add
some salt and sugar to taste.
9. Pour
all the ingredients into the pot, and boil with the broth till the pumpkin is
soft.
10. Mesh
the steamed pumpkin and pour it into the pot.
11. Dissolve
2 small bowls of milk powder with hot soup.
12. Pour
the milk and chicken into the pot, and boil it.
13. If
you have corn flour, dissolve it with cool water, pour it into pot, and stir
the soup to make it sticky.

1. Wash
the cabbages and cut them into medium size sections.
2. Slice
the garlic.
3. Stir-fry
the garlic, and then put the stem of cabbage into the wok, and add the leaves
of cabbage when the stems are half-cooked.
4. Add
some salt and sugar to taste.

Not
very familiar to the western world, bottle gourd is one of the favorite
vegetables in Indian cuisine.
Known by various names, the bottle gourd is yellowish-green in color and
usually in the shape
of a bottle. Bottle gourd is cultivated in the humid weather of Sri Lanka,
India,Indonesia, Malaysia,
the Philippines, China, tropical Africa and South America. Though the vegetable
